NWEDC has prepared final Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) documents. The attached documents include final Land Acquisition and Livelihood Restoration Plan, Indigenous Peoples Plan, Gender Action Plan, Stakeholder Engagement Plan and Grievance Redressal Mechanism, five other plans (Disaster Management Plan, Nepal Employment and Skill Training Plan, Nepal Industrial Benefit Plan and Local Benefit Sharing Plan, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Plan) as per the Power Development Agreement (PDA) between company and government of Nepal. The final ESIA addendum and Nepali executive summary of finalized ESIA have also been made available.
The Purpose of this disclosure of final environmental and social documents is to maintain the transparency of company’s activities aligned with lender’s requirement, and to help minimize potential environmental and social risks during construction and operation phase of the Upper Trishuli-1 Hydropower Project.
