UT-1 main sponsor KOEN has over 15 years of experience in Operation & Management (O&M) of energy projects and has been able to maintain less than 2% of Transmission Loss which is very low compared to that of Nepal. Thus, KOEN will transfer a high level of O&M skill to Nepal.

Lack of electricity results in huge import of Diesel Import for electricity generators negatively affecting the balance of payments of Nepal. The energy generated by UT-1 can reduce diesel import by more than 20 million USD per year.
During the construction period (5 years), 200~500 Nepalese employees will work for UT-1 Project per day. And during the operation period (30 years), 30~40 Nepalese employees will work for UT-1 operation.
